Pacha Ayllu Partnership
Pacha Ayllu is a grassroots organization in Ecuador led by parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles who share a common goal: ensuring children grow up with clean air. Their central initiative, the Family-Led Clean Air Observatory, is designed to provide citizens with real-time air quality data across Ecuador’s major cities. By strategically placing monitors near parks, schools, childcare centers, healthcare facilities, and pollution hotspots, the group is creating a community-driven network that empowers citizens with vital information about the air they breathe.
Beyond monitoring, Pacha Ayllu actively builds awareness and capacity within their community. They organize family workshops, share educational content, and run campaigns to highlight the impact of air pollution on children’s health. Through these efforts, the group equips families with tools to understand and act on air quality issues and encourages collective advocacy for healthier environments.
