AirGradient’s Approach to Authentic Partnerships

At AirGradient, our mission is deeply personal. Our journey began when our founder, Achim, experienced the harsh reality of wildfire smoke during the 2019 Thailand fires (shown in the photo below). Since then, our team has grown to include many more members from around the world, and we all share one thing in common - we believe everyone has a right to clean air.

All of us on the AirGradient team are air quality advocates, as we’ve been directly impacted by air pollution. This has strengthened our commitment to helping people better protect themselves and their communities. We believe that air quality monitoring should be accessible to all and we’re driven by a genuine desire to impact the world positively.

To do this, we’ve created a range of low-cost open-source air quality monitors that we believe break down the barriers to monitoring and learning about the health impacts of air quality. However, we also felt this wasn’t enough, so we are committed to transparency, community engagement, and education. These values are at the core of our mission.

Sharing our mission isn’t easy, especially since we don’t hire any marketing professionals and rather rely on our community to share the word. Instead of using traditional marketing methods, we prefer to create and foster meaningful relationships with influencers and reviewers who are trusted and respected within their niches.

For this reason, we don’t ask influencers to share scripts or captions with us before they publish their thoughts. If we are provided with a script, we will never ask to make changes to the author’s thoughts or opinions (we will only fix factual inaccuracies or make factual comments ), and we will never ask for a video or review not to go live.
