Economist Educational Foundation
The Economist Educational Foundation developed a lesson exploring the dangers and ethical dilemmas of air pollution. Our founder & CEO Achim Haug contributed as an expert in the development of this lesson.
Project Details
This educational resource equips teachers with the tools to engage students in critical discussions about air pollution that go beyond science. It guides learners through the environmental, social, and ethical questions that surround air quality. Students work through problem-solving exercises that challenge them to create and analyze solutions. By presenting real-world dilemmas and encouraging thoughtful debate, this resource helps students develop the critical thinking skills needed to navigate one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time.
Community Impact
This resource helps students tackle real-world air pollution dilemmas that don’t have easy answers. By analyzing scenarios like balancing cultural tradition with environmental protection, or deciding who should bear the cost of cleaner technology when communities can’t afford it, students learn to weigh competing priorities and think through who is responsible for change. Through these practical scenarios, they develop the problem-solving skills needed to discuss air quality issues in their communities and learn to advocate for sustainable solutions.
