Upcoming Price Adjustment for AirGradient Monitors

Since the release of our current monitors - the AirGradient ONE and AirGradient Open Air - we’ve remained steadfast in our pricing of $195 and $190, respectively. Although many things have changed around us, such as inflation, tariffs, and component costs, we’ve always done our best to keep our prices as low as possible because we believe that air quality monitoring should be accessible to everyone.

Unfortunately, the time has come for us to increase our prices. Don’t worry, though! We will still be among the most affordable monitors on the market, and you will have time to act before this price increase occurs.

This isn’t a decision we take lightly, and we want to be fully transparent about why it’s necessary.

AirGradient ONE and Open Air Price Increase

As of 16.8.2025, the price of the AirGradient ONE will increase from $195 to $230, and the Open Air will increase from $190 to $225. This represents a price increase of around 18%. This price increase will NOT impact the kit versions of either monitor, and our goal is to keep the kits at the same price so they remain as accessible as they are today.

Although our kit costs have also increased, raising the prices on the assembled monitors will help offset the rising costs of the kit. It’s also worth noting that the assembled monitors have become increasingly time-consuming for us to assemble due to our increasingly thorough in-house testing in our dedicated testing chamber.

However, this increased hands-on time from our team doesn’t apply to the kits. Since kit builders perform the final assembly and testing themselves, we can pass those labour savings directly on to the community, keeping the kits at their original price. This allows us to ensure our monitors remain as readily accessible as they have been until now.

Grace Period

While the need to increase the price of our assembled monitors is increasingly pressing, we don’t want to make a sudden and unannounced change. Rather, we want to inform everyone well in advance of any changes we make and give everyone time to act before any changes occur. For this reason, we’ve decided to introduce a grace period.

For two months, until 16.8.2025, the AirGradient ONE and AirGradient Open Air will NOT increase in price. Until this date, you can purchase both devices at the prices they’ve been since their release. Only on August 16th will the new price changes take place. Therefore, if you’ve been considering getting an AirGradient monitor, or if you know anyone who is interested, this period will hopefully allow you long enough to purchase a monitor for its original price.

Future Proofing

With this 18% price increase, we have also done our best to future-proof our pricing. While we have no idea what will happen in the future and we can’t make guarantees, this price increase should prevent the need for any further adjustments in the near future.

We know that no one likes price increases (we don’t want to do this either!), but with increasing costs and time requirements, keeping our current pricing is unsustainable. With that said, even with these price increases, we remain some of the most affordable air quality monitors on the market, which we will always aim to be. We are also the only company on the market to provide such thorough in-house testing before shipping monitors to our customers.
