Learn MoreAirGradient is a leading provider of open-source air quality monitoring solutions at scale, empowering communities and organizations worldwide to understand and improve their air quality.
Founded in 2019 by Achim Haug and Dominik Schraner, both heavily affected by air pollution in Thailand, AirGradient has experienced remarkable growth, deploying over 30,000 monitors in more than 80 countries and building a dedicated team of 20+ professionals. We are driven by our mission to make air quality data accessible and actionable, fostering a global movement toward a cleaner, healthier future.
We are actively seeking partnerships with organizations that share our vision. We are particularly interested in collaborating with those who can assist us with monitor deployments, enabling us to expand our reach and impact, particularly in closing data gaps and promoting open data. We believe that by working together, we can address critical data gaps, raise awareness of air quality issues, and empower communities to take action.
AirGradient has rapidly evolved from a volunteer project to a globally recognized leader in air quality monitoring. We’ve achieved this by focusing on building a sustainable social business with a proven track record.
This foundation of proven technology and a commitment to open-source accessibility has allowed us to foster a strong community and establish ourselves as a trusted partner for research institutions and organizations worldwide. Importantly, we have achieved profitability and are experiencing continuous growth through our open model, without reliance on external funding. Here’s what sets us apart:
We aim to empower one billion people worldwide to understand, address, and ultimately reduce air pollution and associated carbon emissions. We believe this ambitious goal is achievable through strategic partnerships and a continued focus on accessible technology, community engagement, and impactful research.
To achieve this vision, our upcoming focus is on:
Collaboration is at the heart of our mission, and we believe that achieving our ambitious goals requires a diverse network of partners. We’re seeking organisations that share our passion for clean air and carbon reductions and are driven to make a tangible difference.
Whether your focus is on environmental protection, public health, policy making, or community empowerment, we believe there’s a place for you in this movement. We’re particularly excited to connect with organisations that can help us deploy monitors in underserved communities and data-sparse regions, amplifying our impact and expanding the reach of reliable air quality information. We also see immense value in partnering with educational institutions to integrate air quality education into their programs, fostering the next generation of environmentally conscious leaders.
Ultimately, we envision a collaborative ecosystem where organisations of all kinds – NGOs, policy makers, community groups, and educational institutions – work together to create a world where everyone has access to clean air. Partners that share our mission can work together with us to increase our shared impact either by working on specific projects together or by directly funding certain activities.
AirGradient has a strong history of successful collaborations. Examples of these collaborations include:
