Accessing AirGradient Global Indoor Air Quality Map and API
AirGradient's open indoor air quality dataset is available through the public global indoor air quality map and API.
You can use it to explore current readings, retrieve historical measurements, or study broad patterns across participating indoor locations.
The dataset contains data from AirGradient users who have chosen to share their indoor data.
Location coordinates are reduced in precision to protect user privacy.
Where to access the data
What the Indoor Data API provides
Open the AirGradient Map API documentation and expand the Indoor section. The available endpoints include:
| Purpose | Endpoint |
|---|---|
| Retrieve the latest available measurements from participating indoor locations | /map/api/v1/indoor/measurements/current |
| List participating indoor locations and their public metadata | /map/api/v1/indoor/locations |
| Retrieve the public metadata for one indoor location | /map/api/v1/indoor/locations/{id} |
| Retrieve historical measurements for one indoor location | /map/api/v1/indoor/locations/{id}/measures/history |
The current and historical measurement responses can include:
- PM2.5
- PM10
- temperature
- relative humidity
- CO2
- measurement timestamps
The available fields may differ between locations because they depend on the monitor model, its sensor configuration, and whether a valid reading is available.
Keep the provider, data source, and license metadata with the data when displaying or redistributing it.
Current scale and coverage
As of 22 September 2026, approximately 1,942 indoor locations were reporting data.
Coverage changes as people opt in or out, monitors come online or go offline, and new locations begin sharing data.
The historical endpoint requires a start time, an end time, and an aggregation interval. Available intervals are 15 minutes, 1 hour, 8 hours, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, and 1 year. Historical timestamps are returned in UTC.
Why indoor coordinates are approximate
Indoor coordinates are rounded to one decimal place before they are made public. This represents an approximate area rather than the monitor's building or exact address.
