Subprocessors and Data Recipients
Subprocessors and Data Recipients
We use certain third-party service providers ("subprocessors") to assist in delivering our products and services. These subprocessors may process personal data on our behalf in connection with the services we provide to our customers.
This page lists the subprocessors currently authorized by AirGradient, along with their purpose. We will update this page as our subprocessor list changes.

Public Data Recipients
Public data recipients receive monitor data only when a user or customer enables public sharing or a customer deployment explicitly requires public sharing.
| Recipient | Purpose | Data Shared | License or Terms |
|---|---|---|---|
| AirGradient public map and public API users | Public air quality visibility, reuse, research, civic tools, community dashboards | Public monitor measurements, timestamps, selected public coordinates/location metadata, data source, attribution, license metadata | AirGradient public documentation states public API data is CC-BY-SA 4.0 |
| OpenAQ | Open air quality repository and research/community reuse | Public monitor measurements, timestamps, public coordinates/location metadata, source and attribution metadata | AirGradient public documentation states direct OpenAQ sharing is CC-BY 4.0 |
| Other optional public data partners | Public-interest, research, civic, government, or community use where enabled | Public monitor data and public location metadata | Partner-specific terms should be confirmed before enablement |
Once public data is shared, third parties may download, cache, republish, analyze, or combine it with other datasets. Disabling public sharing stops future sharing through AirGradient-controlled channels but may not remove data already copied by third parties.
Data Source Providers
AirGradient may use public, partner, or reference data sources to enrich air quality and environmental services.
Examples may include OpenAQ, public air quality networks, wildfire or satellite datasets, geospatial reference datasets, map data, and city or urban-center datasets.
