GO AQS (Global Open Air Quality Standards) aims to establish a clear, globally understandable benchmark for clean indoor air. Today’s IAQ landscape is fragmented: guidance is scattered, often hard to interpret, and frequently focuses on ventilation rates instead of pollutant concentrations.
Note: GO AQS currently does not set a single TVOC limit due to lack of specificity and varying health impacts; elevated TVOC should trigger further investigation.
AirGradient supports GO AQS because open, interoperable standards make air quality data more comparable and actionable. A shared score and breakpoint system reduces confusion and helps users interpret sensor readings consistently, regardless of the device or dashboard they use.
As an open-source air quality company, we also align with the broader goal of transparency: clear thresholds, clear communication, and an ecosystem where people can choose hardware and software freely without vendor lock-in.
