AirGradient Go has three operating modes:

Mode	Main Use	Connection Mode
Portable	Carrying the monitor with/without a phone	Bluetooth
Stationary	Fixed-location use	WiFi
Offline	Local use without any data streaming	No Bluetooth or WiFi connection

The default operating mode is set to Portable.

Change the operating mode on the Go

To change the operating mode:

• Unlock the Go with the On/Off/Unlock button (if locked)
• Press Menu/Select to open the main menu.
• Use Up or Down to navigate to Settings.
• Select Mode.
• Select Stationary, Portable, or Offline / Airplane Mode.
• The monitor returns to the home screen after the mode is changed with a "Mode Changed" confirmation message.

Portable Mode

Use Portable mode when you carry the monitor and connect it to a phone.

In Portable mode, the Go can:

• pair with the AirGradient app over Bluetooth
• send live measurements to the app
• optionally relay readings through the app to the AirGradient Dashboard when Stream data to server is enabled in Configure My Monitor
• change settings via the app
• export stored routes and history
• receive firmware updates from the app

Stationary Mode

Use Stationary mode when the monitor stays in one location and can connect to WiFi.

In Stationary mode, the Go can enter WiFi setup or connect with saved WiFi credentials. It will also reconnect after a temporary WiFi disconnect.

If the monitor does not have saved WiFi credentials, it can enter WiFi setup after you select Stationary mode.

To configure, see Connect AirGradient Go to WiFi. Once WiFi and dashboard onboarding are complete, readings can be viewed in the AirGradient Dashboard.

Offline Mode

Use Offline mode when you want local measurements without active Bluetooth or WiFi data streaming.

In Offline mode, the Go continues measuring locally but Bluetooth live data streaming or WiFi data posting is off.

In Portable and Stationary modes, AirGradient Go can calculate TVOC and NOx index values from the SGP41.

In Offline mode, the monitor will show raw SGP41 values instead of TVOC and NOx index values because the continuous gas-index calculation is not maintained across deep-sleep cycles in the offline mode.

Tracking and Operating Mode

Route tracking is separate from the operating mode.

Tracking can be active in Portable, Stationary, or Offline mode. Whether the session includes GPS coordinates is controlled separately by GPS Mode. With GPS Mode set to Always Off, the monitor can still record sensor data without GPS coordinates.

In Offline mode, tracking logs GPS and sensor data locally.
